CASL: Cape Adult Sports League has been running a Monday night soccer program for 9 years. We have had players of all skill levels from the players just trying it out, to players that have been extremely high level. I would say the skill level would be considered intermediate and up. We struggled this past Winter when we lost access to the Wixon School with the surprise closing of all programs. Now that Spring is here, we want to use this time to really work on the Soccer offering. We have had up to 4 fields going at once with 70 people playing, dozens of nationalities, and everyone there with common love of the Game. Our numbers have ebbed and flowed over this almost decade of Soccer. As the weather got nice and we got ready to launch the Spring season, we realized the potential that we might have to make an unbelievable soccer program. We recognized that we have over 300 players in our facebook goup and over 400 on our E-Mail list. This is a minimum of 400 people that registered at some point, saying they were interested in playing some Soccer on Cape Cod. It is the players that make a foundation of a great league. I have played in Co-Ed and Adult Mens leagues in several places around the country and I loved them. The getting to know teammates, the friendly competition, and the lacing up of the cleats to play the game I have loved so much since I was a kid. Can we make this happen on Cape Cod? We have always done it as a drop-in night, but could there be more to this? We have taken kickball and built it into a 14 team league. Dodgeball we have had seasons with up to 25 teams competing in different spots on the Cape. Is there something we can all get behind for Soccer on Cape Cod? We are ready to take to the field on Monday Nights. We will begin with a drop-in for some friendly competetion, but we are keeping our eyes on creating the best Adult Soccer offering on Cape Cod.
