Pre-Season Social night for CASL Kickball

We wrapped up the Spring season and it was a heavily contensed playoff night. It was a lot of fun, but the intensity was building pretty high. I like have 7 weeks of fun and letting loose and then one night that has a bit more of a compettive edge. A good way to segway the two seasons might be to have a fun social night. A chance for the newbie players to check out hte game, seasoned vets to play with peope that are usually opponenets, and a chance to just get a little whacky with Chaos Kickball.

This is also a great night if you know anyone that might be interested in trying it out, but isn’t quite ready to pull the trigger on registering for the league. Tell them to come on down to Johnny Kelley Park in Dennis on Wed July 10th. We will make the teams and get started at 7pm. The more the merrier.

Chaos Kickball?!?! yup yup it is a completly made up game that is all about making things as weird as possible for an evening. If nobody is on base, the kicker can decide to run towards 1st or 3rd base. Once established, this is the direction everyone must go until the innng iover or the bases are cleared. You can have 2 people on a base and then can connect a lead with their feet. There are no baselines, so you can run whereever needed to get to the next base, but you must go in order. Any ball in the air can be made into a double play if there are two tips/bumps before the catch. i.e a fly ball goes into the outfield, if that player bumps it in the air and another player bumps it, and then the ball is caught by either the 1st fielder or another fielder, that is an automatic double play. These are not the rules that we usually play by during the regular season. This is just a night/game to make it as unserious as possible. If you are not laughing playing this game, then you are doing it wrong haha.
