Forensic Nurse ExaminerAt Franciscan, our Forensic Nurse Examiners are critical to the compassionate comprehensive medical-forensic exams to victims of violence. In this role you may see patients that may include victims of sexual assault, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, child abuse, elder abuse, human trafficking and other abuse within the scope of practice. In this role you will obtain consent and patient history to formulate a plan of care as well as assess and conduct safety planning for victims and their families. You will also collaborate with medical providers, victim advocates, law enforcement, Department of Child Services and other social service agencies and may require you to provide courtroom testimony related to the care and treatment they provided.Franciscan Health is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and promoting health and wellness in our community. Franciscan Health takes pride in hiring coworkers who provide compassionate, comprehensive care for our patients and the communities we serve.What You Can ExpectPRN alternating shift availableCollaborate with community partners such as law enforcement, DCS, APS, and community advocates.Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, families, and coworkers.Assess, collect, and analyze comprehensive objective, subjective, psychosocial, and cultural data pertinent to patient condition. Plan of care is developed and implemented in collaboration with the patient and family.
