CASL wants to expand co-ed adult soccer

CASL: Cape Adult Sports League has been running a Monday night soccer program for 9 years. We have had players of all skill levels from the players just trying it out, to players that have been extremely high level. I would say the skill level would be considered intermediate and up. We struggled this past Winter when we lost access to the Wixon School with the surprise closing of all programs. Now that Spring is here, we want to use this time to really work on the Soccer offering. We have had up to 4 fields going at once with 70 people playing, dozens of nationalities, and everyone there with common love of the Game. Our numbers have ebbed and flowed over this almost decade of Soccer. As the weather got nice and we got ready to launch the Spring season, we realized the potential that we might have to make an unbelievable soccer program. We recognized that we have over 300 players in our facebook goup and over 400 on our E-Mail list. This is a minimum of 400 people that registered at some point, saying they were interested in playing some Soccer on Cape Cod. It is the players that make a foundation of a great league. I have played in Co-Ed and Adult Mens leagues in several places around the country and I loved them. The getting to know teammates, the friendly competition, and the lacing up of the cleats to play the game I have loved so much since I was a kid. Can we make this happen on Cape Cod? We have always done it as a drop-in night, but could there be more to this? We have taken kickball and built it into a 14 team league. Dodgeball we have had seasons with up to 25 teams competing in different spots on the Cape. Is there something we can all get behind for Soccer on Cape Cod? We are ready to take to the field on Monday Nights. We will begin with a drop-in for some friendly competetion, but we are keeping our eyes on creating the best Adult Soccer offering on Cape Cod. CASL Dives into Indoor Pickleball

CASL is ready to go all in with this pickleball craze. Friday nights we will host.some games at Ezra Baker School in Dennis. We can have three courts going. We will start with a drop in, but then switch to a fun for all points based system. Evferyone will play with everyone, but we will find a way to get some skin in the game for friendly competition.

DODGEBALL IS BACK

CASL has finally found some gym space and we want to get started as quickly as possible. We are starting with a social on Jan 31st at 8pm It will be our first outing in the new digs. We will be at DY Intermediate middle school. It is a new and fancy gym. We will be able to have up to 4 games going on at once. This social week will give us an opportunity to adjust the rules and court sizes to allow the best use of the space.

    AI is not quite there with pictures and text but it looked pretty funny. We do not have any gym space yet for dodgeball, but how about some CASL Wednesday night Holiday social action? I am thinking Ugly sweater contest, maybe some minute to win it games/contests, and just get the league back together before the end of the Year.
